Generations of composers and performers meet at a joint concert of NYKY Ensemble, the contemporary music ensemble of the Sibelius Academy, and the German-based ensemble recherche Freiburg.
The ensemble recherche Freiburg, one of the most exciting contemporary music ensembles on the international music scene, performs new compositions written for the occasion by students of the Sibelius Academy’s composition department. The Sibelius Academy’s NYKY Ensemble, under the guidance of members of ensemble recherche, then perform music written by internationally known contemporary composers.
For NYKY Ensemble players and composition students alike, this project is a unique opportunity to learn from the expertise of the world-class musicians of ensemble recherche.
