Anna Petrini, Paetzold contrabass recorder and Ganassi recorder
Anders Pohjola, electronics
”When the sun has not yet already risen nor set, twilight (“crepuscolo” in Italian) shows day and night simultaneously. At this juncture, the space of daylight’s sky, which we perceive as ‘near’ merges with that stellar ‘distance’ of the night. In Crepuscolo, the Paetzold recorder is largely explored in its thousand timbric details along with an extensive research of spatialisation techniques.” – Oscar Bianchi
The Paetzold contrabass recorder is a modern instrument invented in the 1970s by Herbert Paetzold. The internationally acclaimed soloist Anna Petrini (SE) has been heard mastering the instrument at Warsaw Autumn, Huddersfield Contemporary Music festival, Ultraschall Berlin, Ars Musica, ISCM World New Music Days and at the Berlin Philharmonie and is our first guest at the Klang Helsinki concert series season 2019-20.
